The project of the composition "Power"
For many years I have been trying to realize in sculpture a theme that would symbolize the spirituality of a person in social life. In recent years, I have been especially fascinated by this idea and at the present time I am implementing it in a specific sculptural composition, dialectically concentrating the contradictions of the individual throughout the entire human civilization. When it became clear to me that the figure of the “Rider” alone could not express everything, I came to the need to create an appropriate architectural ensemble in the vein of allegory, presenting the “Rider” surrounded by two eagles and two vultures.
The name of the allegory is "POWER". I solve the topic in bronze, since this ancient material is most suitable for my self-expression. Sculpture is the center of the architectural design.
The architectural composition "Power" contains a certain code of power and determination of a person endowed with a tough, but flexible mind, necessary for survival in historical life. I was inspired by the fact that the theme of power has not yet been posed in sculpture as an Allegory of Power, in my interpretation concentrating the Code of Power in itself. Having ideologically and plastically summed up the many thousands of years of experience of the existence of Power, I concentrated its essence in an image devoid of both temporary “hints” and the entourage of a particular era. In my composition, the idea of power extends to all historical time, including the present. But, since it seems to be an extremely difficult task to reveal the multidimensional theme of Power through the Horseman alone (obviously, therefore, no one undertook to solve it), I surrounded the “Code” with symbols that help to reveal the theme - royal majesty (two eagles) and its opposite, which is death, carrion (two vultures). Eagles linearly form a cross in the Composition, which crowns the pyramid, which stands at the center of the gigantic Architectural Project.
"Power. Sculptural composition in bronze - architectural project with a conference hall in the center. Function: international political conferences and other public hearings. The project is an elevated 7-8 yard square with four towers on the corners, in the center of which is a four-sided pyramid with a sculpture on its top.
The model of the sculpture is made in scale 1:9, its size is 34 inches (85 cm.).
The material is bronze.
The drawings and plans of the Architectural Project were developed by me together with the prominent Moscow architect Oleg Goryachev, whose experienced hand distinguishes his sketches. Here I present only a small part of them.
The allegorical composition consists of a horseman surrounded by four eagles. The title of the allegory is "Power." The rider, the horse, the form of the pedestal, the eagles (two eagles and two vultures), serve as an allegory of political and social existence in the conventional prehistoric period, i.e. the period of formation of social ties and political institutions. The composition contains a code of achievements and contradictions of man in his historical life.
